It's time to get your helmets on and get riding! 🚴🚴‍

The Coonawarra Rail Trail officially opened in November 2022 after beginning construction in 2021, and is a 19km long track that runs through Penola and Coonawarra alongside the old railway line.

Surrounded by beautiful vineyards and fertile farmland, it is certainly a scenic route to take when experiencing the area, riding or walking style!

Starting from Riddoch Street, the easy straight stretch takes you to the Coonawarra Railway Siding, but access is also available from Jessie Street and Robe Road.

You can ride your way to one of the beautiful wineries for lunch, all within a short distance of one another.
Push bikes are available to hire from Must@ Coonawarra.

The railway line has been out of action since 1995 and was a track that ran from Mount Gambier to Wolseley (near Bordertown).
