The Riddoch Business and Community Association (RBCA) is the lead community and business organisation in the Penola and Coonawarra district of the Wattle Range Council area of the Limestone Coast.

The Riddoch Business and Community Association (RBCA) has proudly supported local businesses and the wider community for many years. With our new committee in place, we’re eager to expand our membership and enhance the involvement of local businesses, community groups and residents alike. To encourage your participation, we’re reducing our 2025 membership fees for the upcoming period: $50.00 for businesses and community groups; and just $10.00 for individual community members.

Our mission is simple yet powerful: to strengthen and support our local economy, making our town a thriving, vibrant place to live, work, and do business. We do this by:

  • Promoting local shopping to boost the visibility of our businesses and community groups.
  • Organising expert presentations that help small businesses and community groups develop key skills, gain confidence, and explore new growth opportunities.
  • Collaborating with organisations like the Office of Family and Small Business to offer access to valuable resources and expert guidance, often free or at a significantly reduced cost for RBCA members.

As the driving force behind events like the Penola Late Night Christmas Shopping and the Penola Community Christmas Party (including the much-loved Christmas Display Competition), RBCA continues to play a vital role in our town’s holiday celebrations. These events have become iconic, and we’re always looking for fresh ideas and enthusiastic members to help take them to new heights. This year, after valuable feedback from our business members, we’re excited to announce that our Christmas Shopping event will take place on Sunday, November 24, 2024—a fantastic family-friendly day filled with street markets, buskers, kids’ activities, and more. Thanks to the Wattle Range Council’s street closure, we’re creating an even more engaging, festive atmosphere for everyone to enjoy.

As can been seen after the success of the community uniting to showcase our town and surrounding areas to the Judges from the SA Agricultural Town of the Year Awards, now more than ever, we’re focused on growing our community. By becoming a member, you’ll have direct access to:

  • A bi-monthly newsletter with updates on town events, new initiatives, and grant opportunities.
  • A forum for you to share your ideas, voice your needs, and connect with fellow business owners, community groups and community members.
  • Expert advice to help your business navigate government departments and unlock its full potential.
  • Event insurance for up to 1000 people events at no additional cost*

*conditions apply.

Our social media presence, which has grown significantly thanks to our resident expert, offers members a fantastic platform to promote their businesses for free. Simply share your updates, offers, or initiatives, and we’ll help spread the word across our Penola Coonawarra social media channels.

We would love to welcome you as a member of RBCA for the next 12 months. Whether you’re an established business or just starting out, are an existing community group or are looking at starting a new group for the community, we’re here to help you succeed.
